The claim
「Rich, fatty soups boost milk supply」
Verdict
MythSupply is set by removal, not by what soup you drink. When milk is not removed, the feedback inhibitor of lactation (FIL) builds up in the alveoli and secretion falls; frequent nipple stimulation and emptying keep prolactin up and supply going. So what actually brings milk in is frequent, effective nursing or pumping, plus enough fluids and calories. Have the soup if you like it — as hydration, not as a switch.
