The claim

「Let them cry until they stop — the "cry-it-out immunity" method」

Verdict

Myth

This century-old behaviourist extreme is rejected by mainstream child development: after prolonged non-response, a baby who finally quiets has usually given up signalling, not learned self-soothing. Distinguish it from graduated methods for babies over 6 months with a set routine and timed parental check-ins — those are research-supported and don’t harm attachment.
